Jayden Young is a dedicated football player at Western Colorado University in Gunnison, Colorado, entering his senior year with excitement for the upcoming season. Born and raised in Colorado Springs, he is the youngest of four siblings and has been passionate about football since the age of five.
Athletics have always been a central part of Jayden's life. Alongside football, he grew up playing basketball with his twin brother, fostering a strong competitive spirit. In high school, he earned First-Team All-Conference honors in both his junior and senior years, and as a senior, he was recognized as a Second-Team All-State offensive lineman. However, at Western, he embraced the challenge of transitioning to the defensive side of the ball—a shift that has been both rewarding and transformative.
Jayden's journey has not been without adversity. He has battled significant injuries, including a torn labrum in 2021 and an ACL tear in 2023, both requiring surgery. Despite these setbacks, his resilience and unwavering determination have kept him moving forward. His perseverance paid off, culminating in his best season yet in 2024.
Jayden approaches life with a mindset of finding the positive in every challenge. His faith and relentless work ethic serve as the foundation for overcoming obstacles. A quote from his high school coach continues to guide him: “No one has ever regretted going all in.” Jayden lives by these words, pushing himself to give his all—both on and off the field.
